Singing: We love gumboot dancing!

We all have that one or two songs that keep us going. Well this as well is a true fact when it comes to our gumboots dancing. Every performance they make has to go with a song that will bring a great spirit amongst them and unite them as a team.

So I asked the KYP Gumboots dancers to sing one of their songs for me which you will love dearly.
This song is in one of our official languages ZULU, this is one of the language of the Zulu people with about 10 million speakers, the vast majority (over 95%) of whom live in South Africa. Zulu is the most widely spoken home language in South Africa (24% of the population) as well as being understood by over 50% of the population (Ethnologue 2005). It became one of South Africa's eleven official languages in 1994 (Wikipedia).

The Title of the song is called “SIYALITHANDA IBOOTS” which means “WE LOVE GUMBOOTS DANCING”. This song basically talks about how Gumboots dancing has changed the youths lives, through all the sins they may have committed, may the lord forgive and protect them all the time, now that they have found something to love  which is Gumboots dancing.. Sweeeeet, I know...
SIYALITHANDA IBOOTS (We love gumboots dancing)
-          Lamaqala’esinawo
-          Lamaqala sithethelele usivikele njalo baba
-          Lamaqala’esinawo
-          Lamaqala sithethelele usivikele njalo baba
-          Ngoba Thina siyalithand’iboots
-          Ngoba Thina siyalithand’boots

Translation
-          The sins we have
-          Lord forgive and protect us all the time.
-          The sins we have
-          Lord forgive and protect us all the time.
-          Because we love Gumboots dancing.
-          Because we love Gumboots dancing.

Please do listen to the audio (http://goo.gl/2mKdpD), hopefully this may be one of your favourite songs, enjoy!
